Whether you’re looking to get around Wollongong or after information about how to arrive at WSA, we’ve got you covered. This comprehensive transport guide will tell you all you need to know about navigating Wollongong NSW during your stay at Weerona Student Accommodation, including:
Once you land in Sydney International Airport follow the signs towards the airport train station. Here, you will get on the T8 Line (Macarthur via Wolli Creek), and exit this train at Wolli Creek. At Wolli Creek, you will transfer trains to the South Coast Line towards Kiama Via Hurstville Line, and stay on this train until you reach North Wollongong station. From North Wollongong station, you will need to catch a bus or grab a ride share, taxi or lift from a friend to reach Weerona Student Accommodation. Alternatively, you can walk, but we recommend taking transport if it’s your first time visiting WSA.
You can access NSW train timetables and plan your trip ahead of time here.
If you’re travelling from Sydney airport, your best option is to get the train, following the instructions above. Once you’ve arrived at North Wollongong station, you can transfer to a bus to get you the rest of the way. When you arrive at the station, cross the platform using the stairs or the elevators and exit the station (if you see a cafe called il Pozzo across the road, you’re going the right way!). From here, you need to walk to the Crawford Ave at Porter Street bus station, which is a short walk of 180m away. You can use the interactive map below if you’re having trouble finding it.
Once you’re at the bus stop, you’re going to get the Number 10 bus, and exit at the Weerona College, Thorsby Dr stop. This will drop you just down the road from Weerona Student Accommodation.
We recommend downloading an app called Tripview to manage your public transport while in Wollongong. You can use this app to plan your trip to Weerona Student Accommodation, and check for updates on train and bus timetables.
