1. Wodi Wodi TrackÂ
Located at Stanwell Park in the far northern suburbs of Wollongong, the Wodi Wodi Track is one of Wollongong’s best hikes. This track weaves through dense forest in the Illawarra Escarpment State Conservation area and along the way, walkers will come across unique flora as well as stunning views of Stanwell Park beach.
2. Mount Keira Ring TrackÂ
The Mount Keira Ring Track circles the summit in a four-kilometre loop, passing through patches of rainforest, temperate forest, bushland, and of course, the cliffs of the Illawarra Escarpment. This track is great for a casual hike or even an energetic run.
3. Sublime Point Lookout and Gibson Track
As you climb up and up, you’ll see more of the cliffs and the surrounding area, before finally emerging at Sublime Point, one of the finest lookouts in the Wollongong area. This hike is quite steep, and mostly ideal for experienced bushwalkers.
4. Illawarra Escarpment WalkÂ
Showcasing the best of the Wollongong area, with its rainforests, bushland, cliffs, wildlife, and spectacular lookouts, hiking the Illawarra Escarpment walk is a must for any serious bushwalker.
5. Illawarra Lookout TrackÂ
This walk goes through woodlands and heath before arriving at the Illawarra Lookout rock platform. The views from here are fantastic, with rolling farmland, little towns, and, of course, the lovely coastline in the distance.
