Are you moving to Wollongong? Here’s a list of the top 5 beaches you can explore in and around the area!
1. North Wollongong Beach
North Gong Beach is the only beach in Wollongong that has lifeguards all year round, meaning it’s the best beach for swimming in the area. While it does get quite busy during the summer and on hot days, there are so many restaurants and cafes nearby to grab a bite to eat!
2. Port Kembla Beach
Port Kembla Beach is one of the nicest beaches in Wollongong! You can always spot surfers out in the water, and there’s even a lap pool right next to the beach to take a dip in if you prefer no waves.
3. Towradgi Beach
Towradgi is a picturesque beach located between a couple of beaches in Wollongong. It is a popular spot with all the locals, so sometimes it can be quite busy during school holidays and peak seasons. Despite this, it’s a stunning beach and is a must visit!
4. Bulli Beach
This gorgeous beach is 900 metres long, backed by sand dunes and a large parkland area which is great for picnics and gatherings. It’s also an on-lead dog friendly beach during certain times, which is perfect for those wanting to take their pups on a trip!
5. Puckeys
While Puckeys Beach is not recommended for swimming, it still makes this list due to its central location and for being a 24 hour dog friendly beach!
